This week is on Deuteronomy 6:14-17; Matthew 4:1-7.
In the 2nd temptation, Jesus is asked to do something spectacular, to win applause. This lure is not to prove one worthy of God’s love, but just for the ovation and praise of others. It is in God’s unconditional love that we find the lure of this temptation powerless.
