Corinth was a self-indulgent city. A melting pot of people from all over the world who immigrated there to start a new life, to have hope. Here the Apostle planted a church. People experienced that the cross of Jesus turns people from self-absorbed to being service oriented. Yet, there are always growing pains of going from where we are as a church to where God wants us to be. The Apostle in love and firmness addresses these spiritual bumps in this letter as the Corinthian church.
